Synchronization Panels

Generator synchronization, AMF & ATS panels

Synchronization panels that run two or more generators in parallel, plus AMF panels that start the generator when the mains fails and ATS panels that switch the load between supplies. Built in our workshop at Al Jadaf Dry Dock, Dubai, for buildings, plants and vessels across the UAE.

Synchronization panel manufacturer in Dubai

Synchronization and control panels for generator sets

Anchor Marine Engineering builds generator synchronization panels (also called synchronizing panels, sync panels or DG synchronizing panels), AMF panels, ATS panels and generator control panels in-house in Dubai, for standby and prime power in buildings and plants and for generator sets on board ships. Every panel is designed around your generators and loads, wired and labelled circuit by circuit, and tested before it leaves the workshop.

The same team repairs, modifies, retrofits and refurbishes existing generator panels, and installs and commissions new ones on site or on board.

Because we also rewind generators and overhaul marine engines and generators, the generator set and its control panel can be handled by one team.

Each synchronization panel for generator sets is built to order, and as AMF and ATS panel suppliers in the UAE we deliver and commission panels across the country.

Panel types

Synchronization and generator panels we build

Built to your specification for single generators, parallel generator sets and mains changeover.

  • 01

    Synchronization panels

Bring two or more generators into phase and run them in parallel, sharing the load, with manual or automatic synchronizing to your specification.

  • 02

    AMF panels

Auto mains failure panels that start the generator when the mains fails, transfer the load and return it when power is restored.

  • 03

    ATS panels

Automatic transfer switch panels that switch the load between mains and generator, or between two supplies.

  • 04

    Generator control panels

Control, metering and alarm panels for individual generator sets.

Which panel do I need?

Synchronization, AMF or ATS panel

The right panel depends on how many generators you run and what should happen when the mains fails.

PanelWhat it doesTypical use
Synchronization panelMatches voltage, frequency and phase so two or more generators run in parallel and share the loadSites with several generators; ship power plants
AMF panelStarts the generator on mains failure, transfers the load, and returns it when the mains is backStandby power for buildings, hotels and plants
ATS panelSwitches the load between two suppliesChangeover between mains and generator, or between two generators
Generator control panelControls, meters and protects a single generator setSingle standby or prime power generators

Marine

Synchronization panels for ships

Most vessels run two or more generators in parallel, and the synchronization panel brings each set onto the main busbar. We build marine synchronization panels to marine class standards, as part of a new main switchboard or as a separate panel, and repair and retrofit existing ones.

How we work

From requirements to commissioning

The standard steps for a new generator panel. For repairs and retrofits we start with an inspection of the existing panel.

  1. 01

    Requirements

Generators and ratings, mains supply, loads and the functions you need.

  2. 02

    Design & quote

Panel layout and control scheme confirmed, with a written quote.

  3. 03

    Build & wiring

Breakers, controllers, meters and relays fitted, wired and labelled.

  4. 04

    Workshop testing

Insulation resistance testing, loop checks and thermal simulation.

  5. 05

    Install & commission

Installed on site or on board and live commissioned with the generators.

  6. 06

    Support

Repair, modification and retrofit when the system changes.

Generator panel questions

What is a generator synchronization panel?

A synchronization panel (also called a synchronizing panel) brings two or more generators into step, matching their voltage, frequency and phase, so they can be connected to the same busbar and run in parallel, sharing the load between them.

What is the difference between an AMF panel and an ATS panel?

An AMF (auto mains failure) panel watches the mains supply, starts the generator when the mains fails, transfers the load to it and returns the load to the mains when power is restored. An ATS (automatic transfer switch) panel switches the load between two supplies, such as mains and generator or two generators.

Do you build synchronization panels for ships?

Yes. We build marine synchronization panels for running ship generators in parallel, either as part of a new main switchboard or as a separate panel, built to marine class standards.

Can you build a generator panel to our specification?

Yes. Send the number of generators and their ratings, the mains supply details, the loads and the functions you need, and we design and build the panel to your specification and drawings.

Can you repair or upgrade an existing generator panel?

Yes. We repair, modify, retrofit and refurbish existing synchronizing, AMF, ATS and generator control panels, from replacing outdated components to adding functions.

How are the panels tested?

Insulation resistance testing, loop checks and thermal simulation in our workshop, then live commissioning with the generators once the panel is installed.

Do you also service the generators?

Yes. We rewind generators and alternators of all types and overhaul marine diesel engines and generators, so the generator set and its panel can be handled by one team.

What do you need to quote a generator panel?

The number of generators and their ratings (kVA, voltage, frequency), the mains supply details, the loads, the functions required (synchronizing, AMF, ATS), the installation location and any standard it must meet (DEWA, FEWA or marine class).
