Coiled elements for even heating
A spiral immersion heater is a tubular heating element wound into a coil. Coiling puts a long heated length into a compact space and spreads the heat through the liquid, so a tank or vessel heats quickly and evenly.
Anchor Marine Engineering manufactures spiral tubular immersion heaters at its Al Jadaf workshop for heating water, oil and chemical solutions in tanks and vessels.
Each coil is formed to your diameter, height and terminal position and built to your voltage and wattage, from one replacement to bulk supply, and tested before delivery.
They are also called coil immersion heaters, coil heaters or spiral heating elements.

Design
Why a coiled element heats evenly
Winding the element into a spiral fits more heating length into the space and spreads it across the tank, rather than concentrating the heat in one place.
- Tubular element wound into a spiral
- Long heated length in a compact space
- Heat spread across the tank
- Coil size set by the vessel
Applications
Where spiral immersion heaters are used
Tanks and vessels that need fast, even heating.
- 01
Water tanks
Even heating of water in tanks and vessels.
- 02
Oil tanks
Heating oil in tanks where even heat matters.
- 03
Chemical solutions
Industrial tanks of chemical solutions.
- 04
Vessels
Round tanks and vessels where a coil fits the shape.
Built to order
What we need to build your spiral heater
There is no fixed catalogue size. Each heater is made to the specification of the equipment it is for, or matched to a sample of the old one.
| Detail | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| Voltage & wattage | Sets the electrical design and heating rate |
| Coil diameter & height | Sized to fit inside your tank or vessel |
| Terminal position | Where the ends leave the coil |
| Sheath material | Chosen to suit the liquid; matched to your sample or specification |
| Liquid heated | Water, oil or chemical solution |
| Mounting | How the coil is held and connected in the tank |
How to order

What is a spiral immersion heater?
It is a tubular heating element wound into a spiral or coil and placed in the liquid. The coil spreads heat evenly and fits a long element into a compact space.
What is a spiral heater used for?
We manufacture spiral tubular immersion heaters for fast, even heating of water, oil and chemical solutions in tanks and vessels.
Can you make a coil to fit our tank?
Yes. Coils are formed to the diameter, height and terminal position you need, or matched to your old coil.
Do you make coil heaters in batches?
Yes. We manufacture from a single replacement up to bulk supply.
